About Us

 Phyu is an international medical graduate who earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B., B.S.) Degree in 2012 from the University of Medicine, Myanmar and started working in the United States right after graduation. Phyu began her career as Medical Record Specialist, found her passion in the health information field and decided to pursue her career in the field using her medical background. Over the years, she gained experience as Medical Coder/Auditor, Billing Specialist, Risk Adjustment Coder, and currently working as a Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist in a large healthcare system in the New York City area. In addition, she earned her CPC, CCS, CRC, and CDIP credentials throughout the years. Her current goal is to help people who want to start their career in Medical Coding and CDI field using experience gained on her career journey. 

Aaron Taylor attended Rasmussen University, where he graduated in 2019 with honors and earned his A.A.S. degree in Health Information Technology, and in 2021 graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Health Information Management. Aaron first earned his RHIT in September of 2019, superseding it with the RHIA in January of 2022. Over the years, Aaron has worked in several different HIM roles, including Scheduling, Data Quality and Assurance, Release of Information (ROI), HEDIS Medical Records Retrieval, and is currently working as a Medical Paralegal for a personal injury law firm in Atlanta, GA. Aaron is here with us to share his knowledge, experience, and test-taking strategies to help individuals prepare for and pass the Registered Health Information Administration Exam.   

Karolina Austin, served in the United States Army. She holds a A.S in Health Information Technology from St. Petersburg College along with an RHIT. Over the years she has worked in several leadership positions as a compliance officer, privacy officer, and medical records director.  Mrs. Austin was a speaker at the AHIMA 2018 Miami national convention and the HCCA 2019 national convention in Washington DC on 42 CFR Part 2. She has conducted training on 42 CFR Part 2 with the state attorney office and local law enforcement agencies as well as agencies with the Department of Children and Families. 

Brianna Williams obtained her Master of Science in Healthcare Informatics in 2022 and her Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration in 2019, both from the University of Central Florida. In April 2022, she earned her CPHIMS certification and is also a member of HIMSS. She is currently a Medical Records Manager for the Primary Healthcare Department at the Ministry of Health in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Brianna is excited about sharing her experiences and helping students prepare for their certifications.

Alyssia Mikes is a graduate of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University’s Health Informatics and Information Management Program.  She is also pursing her Juris Masters in Health Care Regulation at Florida State University where she is set to graduate in Summer 2023.  In November 2021, she earned her RHIA certification. Alyssia has been involved with FHIMA as a volunteer and scholarship recipient. She is currently a Health Information Manager in Training for Parallon. Alyssia is eager to assist in the facilitation of knowledge and growth in the field of Health Informatics and Information Management.
